As an Assistant Buyer you will contribute to the continued growth of Superbalist as a partner to the Buyer within a product category (or categories). Your primary responsibilities include supporting the department across all administrative functions but more specifically related to the purchasing of product from third party brands.
Complete all administrative documentation that is related to loading of products into the Superbalist system.
Conducting product research to ensure we supply the customer with accurate and useful product information.
Creation of purchase orders.
Communicating with suppliers to get all information required to load product and create purchase orders.
Work with Suppliers to ensure the greater team always has the latest stock availability information to place replenishment orders and or new orders.
Liaise with suppliers to receive weekly updates on stock availability to feed to the buyer to push replenishment orders.
Supporting the customer service team in resolving product and order queries and complaints and product sourcing and pricing queries.
Collaborating with the merchandising team to provide them with any and all product, vendor and brand info required
Collaborate with supply chain to provide them with vendor information and or product information as and when required and to assist with purchase order management as required.
Maintain all filing of all information to be easily accessible at all times
Managing all other administrative work required of the department
Matric (grade 12) exemption
Relevant Diploma or Degree in Fashion, Marketing, BSC or BComm
Competency in MS Office packages specifically in excel
1+ years’ experience in retail is preferable
Basic knowledge and understanding of retail math
